Free Integrative Therapy for Children with Cancer Across New England

Love Bus funds integrative therapy sessions directly for children with cancer throughout New England — at the hospital, at home, or in the community. We pay the provider. Your family just shows up. There is no cost, no insurance requirement, and no income threshold.

Who Qualifies for Patient Support

Any child diagnosed with cancer before age 21 who lives in or is treated in New England qualifies for the Lucy's Children program. It does not matter which hospital your child is treated at, which New England state you live in, or where your child is in the treatment journey. Love Bus serves families from diagnosis through active treatment, remission, long-term survivorship, and hospice.

How the Funding Works

Step 1:

Complete an application

It all starts with an application! This includes a medical permission form signed by your child's oncologist before they can get started. We do not collect any information regarding finances or citizenship — those are not needed to qualify for support!

Step 2:

Talk with our programs team

Your application will be reviewed by a staff member to make sure all pieces are complete, and then they will reach out to discuss next steps!

Step 3:

Start with services!

Our program team will work with a provider to make sure everything is in order for your child to have safe and supportive services tailored to their needs and your schedule! Once connected, you will schedule sessions and they will bill us -- that's it! We'll keep you and the provider updated as to how much funding your child has remaining in this year's award. Your child is eligible for funding each year from Love Bus, as long as needed and as long as we can continue to offer it.

Questions Families Ask About Patient Support

  • How can I get free integrative therapy for my child with cancer in Massachusetts?

It all starts with our application! Any child diagnosed with cancer before age 21 who lives in or receives treatment in any New England state qualifies. Love Bus funds therapy sessions directly — massage, acupuncture, yoga, music therapy, and more — at no cost to your family.

  • Can Love Bus fund therapy sessions for my child?

Yes. Love Bus pays providers directly so qualifying families never receive a bill. Sessions can be delivered at our partner hospitals, through community practitioners near you, or at home — wherever works best for your child and your schedule.

  • How do I apply for the Love Bus patient support program?

Visit our Get Support page to submit an application. The process takes a few minutes, and a Love Bus staff member will follow up personally to confirm eligibility and discuss which therapies are the best fit for your child.

  • Can you reimburse me for activities my child already did?

Love Bus pays practitioners directly for their work, and cannot reimburse a family for sessions that ocurred prior to completing an application. Please wait to hear from our program team before paying for anything for your child, so that we can cover it or discuss next steps!
